Dear Clients,
The Swedish Standards Institute (SIS) reports that ISO member countries have expressed significant support for the Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 9001:2026, reportedly with 97% of votes in favour. This draft represents the next stage in the revision of the ISO 9001 standard, with formal publication planned around 2026.
The draft standard includes anticipated modernisations and improvements, including:
-
a stronger focus on the digitalisation of quality management processes,
-
integration of sustainability and ESG principles,
-
enhanced management of risks and opportunities in business operations.
It is important to note that the DIS is still undergoing the voting and commenting phase, and the new version of the standard has not yet been formally published. Current certifications and audits continue to follow ISO 9001:2015 during the transition period.
ICS Sarajevo is closely monitoring all developments regarding the ISO 9001 revision and is preparing internal procedures to be ready for the implementation of the new standard as soon as it is officially published. We recommend that clients begin planning the adaptation of their quality management systems in line with the new requirements once the standard is finalised.
